Andrew Khoo Boo Yeow
Chairman
Originally from Australia, Andrew studied law in the UK, becoming a barrister and member of the prestigious Lincolns Inn, he also holds a Law Degree from Cambridge University.
Andrew also achieved qualifications from a period of study abroad, including a Master of Business Administration qualification from Seattle Pacific University, plus a Bachelor of Arts, with Political Science and Economics, from the University of Victoria, Canada.
So far, he has put those impressive credentials to good use with a number of board level appointments at global blue-chip companies, specialising in the food, retail and hospitality sectors.
Now, leading our board at Corus Hotels Ltd., as well as managing additional executive responsibilities, Andrew has been our Chairman since 2018.
Khurram Mohmand
Chief Executive Officer
Our CEO, Khurram has 25 years of experience in the hospitality sector. He’s previously held senior roles within Corus, including finance and IT and managing a staff of 500. A fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK), his expertise in corporate finance, acquisitions & disposals, re-structuring, and funding have been intrinsic to our ambitious, strategic growth and the stability of the group.
Currently leading the senior management & support team, and responsible for ensuring sustained returns for our clients, Khurram is central to our operations.
Demonstrating the ability to develop new projects at the highest level, yet maintaining daily involvement ‘on the ground’ is no easy task, yet Khurram balances both effectively. Working with stakeholders and achieving a myriad of goals might overwhelm a less experienced CEO, but he’s focussed on delivery, however ambitious those goals are. From establishing investors’ priorities to onboarding and improving existing trading assets, or creating strategies for a brand re-positioning, every project is approached with adding value as the ultimate aim.
With his impressive background in finance, Khurram often advises on the recovery and turnaround of assets, business reviews, bank monitoring and NED positions for our clients.
Nimo Abdi
Brand Director
Since graduating, Nimo has put her BA Hons in Travel & Tourism and 20 years of internationally gained experience to good use within the Corus family.Having worked with renown brands like Hilton and Jumeirah, she’s now responsible for key departments, including Owner Relationships, Operations and Brand Implementation. Nimo is also responsible for driving the overall HR function and delivering a successful people strategy across all business areas in line with achieving our strategic business goals.
Specialising in TUPE, Change Management, Employment Law and Employee Relationships, she’s dedicated to upholding the company’s HR policies and delivering the Immersive Hospitality Management’s mission: ensuring a return on investment for our owners.
A passionate hotelier and champion of customer excellence, she has previously held several General Manager roles and has a proven track record in project management, hotel launches and refurbishments.
Before joining the Group, she enjoyed roles in the UAE. Notably, at the Foreign Commonwealth Office as Deputy HR Manager for the British Embassy in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, managing over 500 employees.
Since joining us in 2014, Nimo has been central to developing and implementing our “Be Our Guest” initiative – a customer service programme across 11 hotels, and launching the group’s Mission and Value propositions.
Recently, Nimo was instrumental in creating identities for the Laura Ashley Hotels & Tea rooms, which included The Manor, The Belsfield Hotel and The Iliffe Hotel. She continues to bring her considerable expertise to our business.
Jemma McClenaghan
Head of Revenue & Distribution
With roles at Accor, Hilton and Best Western properties under her belt, Jemma has demonstrated incredible flexibility throughout her career. Handling challenging roles ranging from Reception, Food & Beverage, Meetings & Events and Front of House.
A skilled project manager, she has been instrumental in rolling out software systems such as PMS, GDS, RMS, EPOS and CRM, which support in the efficient management of reservations, spa treatment coordination and merchant services.
As Head of Revenue, Jemma takes care of income and the distribution of funds across multiple sites in the UK, while also aligning her fiscal responsibilities with the overall marketing strategy and forecasts. It’s a diverse position but one that she excels at.
Ali Khan
Head of Finance
A graduate of Cardiff University, Ali has a BSc (Econ) in Accounting and Management. He began his career in finance, with roles at Deutsche Bank and Royal Bank of Scotland, plus a period of working in the Social Sector, before joining the Corus Group.
He’s one of our most long-standing team members, having joined us in 2014 and together with his colleagues, Ali looks after all our accounting activity and contracts.
That includes the day-to-day operations at in-house and group level, ensuring all our policies are up to date and in line with regulatory requirements, liaising with auditors and maintaining transparency, as well as overseeing all tax matters and reporting.
He was instrumental in the implementation of our accounting CMS system and also finds time to develop his accounting team.
Kay Cullen
Head of Design & Development
With over 20 years working in the design industry, including some iconic British brands like Laura Ashley and Roger Oates design, Kay has brought her instinctive eye for detail to the Corus family.
Successful projects so far, include the beautiful award winning Belsfield Hotel in the Lake District, alongside a wealth of commercial and residential projects.
With degree level qualifications in spatial, interior and product design, alongside her fresh vision, Kay understands how spaces need to connect emotionally to people, places, and culture.
Using computer aided design (CAD) to bring her ideas to life, she’s able to lead complex projects while managing third party resources to fulfil a project.
Her work has been featured in numerous British and international publications such as Period Living, Ideal Home.
Sabrina O’Brien
Group Marketing Manager
Originally from a creative background, having left the University of Portsmouth with a BA in Illustration, Sabrina transitioned easily into the hospitality sector. Managing marketing and comms for some very well-known hospitality players, including Champneys Resorts, Whittlebury Park and the luxury hotel, Sopwell House.
Demonstrating a rounded understanding of traditional and digital marketing, Sabrina joined us in 2023. She manages all our online activity including the content for multiple websites, social media and email strategies as well as advertising, PR and collateral creation. Sabrina is also the custodian of our brand and manages external partnerships with third party agencies to ensure we remain focussed on our values. An imaginative thinker with valuable experience creating and launching new brands she takes a strategic and well planned approach when it comes to marketing activity. She’s an asset we’re glad to have on board.
Darren Brackstone
Group Chief Engineer
Darren holds a degree in Engineering Operation in Hospitality, which includes mechanical engineering qualifications making him highly qualified to take care of our properties across the Group. With his considerable thirty plus years of experience, he can be relied upon to put our guests’ comfort first and foremost.
Darren’s focus is on energy reduction, sustainability, and innovation. In 2011 he won the prestigious ‘Best Initiative Idea to Drive Performance Award’ – deserving recognition for his dedication to continual improvement.
Although he has a trophy on his shelf, he’s far from complacent about his pivotal role at Immersive Hospitality Management.
