Sustainability Strategy
We are aware that both our planet and our guests demand more ecologically responsible experiences, which is why we are at the forefront of implementing ‘best practice’ sustainability initiatives across our hotels.
Whether involved in a refurbishment or building the reputation of a new hotel, we ensure a comprehensive sustainability strategy is in place. This robust eco-agenda designed to address key areas such as building materials, ventilation and heating, water consumption, chemical agents and the carbon footprint of consumables.
IHM has also championed on-site enterprises like herb gardens and conservation projects. We support our clients in achieving the highest accreditation through our collaborations with ecological advisory bodies. One of the organisations we have partnered with is Green Key, a leading standard of excellence for sustainable operations in the tourist industry. Another is EarthCheck, who provide valuable consultation and training services. Our Burnham Beeches Hotel has recently achieved their Bronze accreditation.
We recognise that strategy alone will not reverse climate challenges. By consistently reinforcing the new culture through leadership, education and systemic changes, we create an environment where the team naturally adopts and sustains the desired values.
